Guide standing next to cars at a countryside meet in Japan

Lived-in knowledge.
Not guidebook knowledge.

Nine years in Japan — across Ehime, Hiroshima, and now Kanagawa — and I've spent most of them behind the wheel. Mountain passes, expressways, backroads, car meets. I've been a JDM and drifting obsessive since I was 17, and living here has only made it worse. This isn't a curated tour. It's access to the places, people, and moments that take years to find.

Whether you want to attend a tucked-away car meet in the mountains, need someone to navigate the JDM import scene, or just want a local who speaks the language and knows where to go — I make the complicated simple.

01

Mountain Pass Routes

The touge roads that inspired Initial D. Early morning, low traffic, your car — or one I can arrange.

02

Car Culture Immersion

Daikoku PA at 2am. Tsurugi meets. The side of Japan that takes years to find invitations into.

03

JDM Sourcing & Import

Auction access, dealer navigation, paperwork translation, and shipment coordination. I've done this. I'll do it for you.

04

Track Day Experiences

Fuji Speedway. Tsukuba. Motegi. I'll book your slot, sort your transport, and brief you on what to expect.

05

Countryside & Backroads

Two-lane prefectural roads through rice paddies and cedar forests. No tour buses. No crowds. Just the drive.

Bespoke Planning

Have something specific in mind? I build custom itineraries. One day or two weeks — tell me what you want.

You drive. I lead.

These are the three routes I run most often. You'll be in your own rental with me leading in mine, and the best part of any of these days is the point where people forget they're on a tour at all — it just turns into a run out with mates, same as any other weekend, except you're in Japan and you're in something cool. Prices below are per group, covering up to four guests across two cars.

Your car, your hands

I'll sort the right rental from fleets across Kanto, whether that turns out to be a Roadster or an R34, and you pay the rental company directly at cost. Nothing gets marked up on my end. What you're paying me for is everything that happens around the car.

One price per group

A single fee covers up to four guests across two cars, with any extra cars at ¥10,000 each. No per-person arithmetic, and nothing new appearing at the end — you'll know the number before we set off.

独立 means independence

I'll walk you through the rental system, the etiquette at the meets, and the handful of unwritten rules nobody bothers to put in a guidebook. If you come back next year and find you don't need me, I'll take that as the job done properly.

01

The Shakedown

from ¥40,000
Half day · ~4 hours · Shops across Kanto

A shop day — the visits and the buying, in whatever mix suits you. Tell me whose parts are already on your car, or whose you've been quietly saving up for, and I'll build the route around that: tuning houses, showrooms, and the secondhand places where the genuinely good stuff turns up. I'll be straight with you beforehand about which stops are a pilgrimage and which are actual shopping, so nothing lands as a disappointment on the day. And if you're hunting something specific — a set of wheels, center caps, a part that never made it out of Japan — send me the list in advance and I'll find out where it's sitting. Much better than wandering in and hoping.

Night Shift

from ¥55,000
Overnight · 20:00–04:00 · Tokyo Bay & the expressways

The all-nighter, and probably my favourite one to run. We collect the car in the evening, have a browse through A-PIT Autobacs in Shinonome, get some dinner into you, and then the night properly opens up: out across the Aqua-Line to Umihotaru, a five-storey parking area sitting in the middle of Tokyo Bay. From there it's back through the C1 loop, the Tokyo PAs, and down to Daikoku to finish. The order isn't accidental — Daikoku before midnight is tour vans and phone cameras, but once it's past twelve the real meet turns up. When we're done I'll lead you back to your hotel, or you hang onto the car and take the rest of the night wherever you fancy.

Runs any night of the week. Weekends draw a bigger crowd and the occasional closure, so I keep the timings loose and the route flexible — if a PA gets shut, I'll know where everyone's moved on to.

03

Touge Day

from ¥65,000
Full day · Hakone

An early start out of Tokyo and onto the Hakone Turnpike. You've almost certainly seen this road in videos; it's a completely different thing with your own hands on the wheel. From the top we take the Hakone Skyline and the Ashinoko Skyline along the caldera ridge, with Fuji off to your right if the weather plays along — which I can't promise, and won't pretend I can. Then coffee at Daikanyama alongside whoever else got up early, lunch somewhere in the mountains, and a second run at the loop if the group still has the appetite for it. I set the pace to whoever's least comfortable, always. Nobody gets left behind, and nobody gets pushed.

Included

  • The route, the timing, and nine years of working out which roads are worth the drive
  • Me in the lead car, in front of you the whole way
  • Rental sourcing and booking — I make the calls in Japanese so you don't have to
  • The things nobody writes down: etiquette at the parking areas, how the toll gates work, how to park up at a meet without ruffling anyone
  • Up to 4 guests across 2 cars

You pay separately, at cost

  • Your rental — paid straight to the rental company, with nothing added by me
  • Fuel and tolls for your own car
  • Meals, parking, and any admissions along the way
  • Any cars beyond the second, at ¥10,000 each

Plenty of tours will put you in the passenger seat of something genuinely exciting, and there's nothing wrong with that — it makes for a great day out. This is a different proposition. You're the one driving, picking your lines, reading the road, and that means two cars instead of one, which is most of why it costs what it does. The upside is that what you pick up on the day comes home with you.

Circuits and race weekends.

Track days get booked bespoke, because the date changes everything. A race weekend at Fuji and a quiet open lapping day at Mobara are completely different experiences, and I'd rather build the day around what's genuinely on the calendar than hand you something off a template. Tell me what you'd like to see, or drive, and I'll work out what's possible.
